In Response to US Sanctions Imposed on the International Criminal Court as an Institution
Bureau of the Assembly of States Parties:
We call on the international community to stand firm in defending the Court against these unprecedented measures and to demonstrate its collective resolve to safeguard the integrity of the international rule-of-law system.

These measures are intended to directly challenge an international legal institution that was established through painstaking efforts to ensure accountability and prevent impunity.
The designation of the Court as an institution follows the imposition of sanctions targeting its elected officials.
The Bureau reaffirms its unwavering support for the Court, its officials, and all those who contribute to the implementation of its judicial mandate under the Rome Statute.
The Bureau reiterates its determination to uphold the principles of international justice and judicial independence, and to stand united in support of the Court, its elected officials, its staff, and all those cooperating with it in carrying out their roles and responsibilities under the Rome Statute.
The Bureau emphasizes the importance of cooperation with the Court by all States Parties and relevant stakeholders within the Rome Statute system.
The Bureau calls on the international community to stand firm in defending the Court against these unprecedented measures and to demonstrate its collective resolve to safeguard the integrity of the international rule-of-law system.
